We always say that music connects, and our journey with Re:elected proves that once again. We met them along the way and thanks to our shared ideas about techno in its purest form, values about the scene and some passionate craziness, we hit it off straight away. This now results in the upcoming Expand EP release of Re:elected on MEUK Records.
We are very excited about their work and how they manage to move people both physically and emotionally with their music. But also how they keep challenging themselves and others to get the most out of their creativity. We are happy to work with them and introduce them to you with love.
About Re:elected
Re:elected is a collaboration by Joerg Fehlemann and Tobias Kressmann. Both have been active in the techno scene for many years under various aliases. They met in 2010 and have performed together at various events and clubs. Since they harmonized well from day one, they decided to work together as the duo we now know as Re:elected.
Tobias Kressmann
Tobias’s passion for electronic music is diverse. Under his alias X-t.r.e.m.e, he celebrates his love for hardtechno, while under his project ‘Tobias Krassman’, he incorporates influences from the Ibiza culture into his music. However, his absolute passion lies in techno, ranging from raw to deep and hypnotic sound – the spectrum is broad. He played at quite a few events featuring Brian Sanhaji, Sven Wittekind, Marco Remus and Torsten Kanzler, among others.
Joerg Fehlemann
Joerg was deeply involved in the EBM and Dark Wave scenes in his early years. He was also strongly inspired by artists and labels in the techno scene. In the late ’90s he started DJing with vinyl records, and by the late 2000s, he became a live act. In 2010, he shifted his focus to intensive work on his own creations. This has already led to collaborations with artists such as Toni Rios, Marco Cannata, and Frank Kusserow.
Okay, we think this is all very impressive, but who are these German guys behind Re:elected really? Let’s ask them a few questions!
How did you guys meet and how did your collaboration started?
“We first connected during a joint performance at an underground event. It was one of those rare moments where you instantly feel a synergy. Our shared love for techno, combined with the way we complement each other’s energy on stage, pushed us to explore this collaboration further. The more we worked together, the more we realized how naturally our creative instincts aligned.”
TOBIAS, CAN YOU tell us a bit more about JOERG?
“What really makes Joerg special, is his legendary knack for turning every afterparty into a spontaneous cooking show!
Picture this: it’s 8 AM, the beats are still pumping, and there’s Joerg in the kitchen, create the most extravagant Italian pizza you’ve ever seen, all while explaining the finer points of beatmatching to a very drunk girl. The man can mix tracks and pizza’s with equal finesse. Cheers to Joerg, the DJ who can truly drop the bass and serve the mediterranean food!”
THIS REALLY SPEAKS TO THE IMAGINATION AND LEAVES YOU WANT MORE! AND JOERG, HOW ABOUT TOBIAS?
“Tobias is an adventurous and energetic guy who seems to have been everywhere. When he’s not fighting his way to the stage, driven by his ambition to join the world’s artists, you’ll likely find yourself spending hours navigating the dance floors of clubs or festivals, wondering if you’ve spotted a wild guy with a beaming grin. You simply can’t picture him away from the DJ booth. It’s always an unforgettable journey.”
Speaking of the dance floor, what does the genre or concept ‘techno’ mean to you And how would you describe your techno style?
“To us, techno is much more than a genre — it’s a framework for expression. We see it as an evolving conversation between rhythm and atmosphere, always pushing forward but still rooted in a kind of primal energy. Techno, for us, is also about freedom. Freedom of movement, freedom of thought. We want people to feel a sense of liberation when they listen to our sets or tracks. That’s also what our techno style is about: with balancing the hypnotic and the intense, we hope to create a space where people can let go of everything, be present in the moment, and connect with something deeper, both in themselves and in the music.”
You also have your own Record label, Can you tell us a bit more about MEET Recordings?
“What can we say? The label was founded in 2015, inspired by Joerg’s crazy journey through all kinds of films — from Alien to Predator, sci-fi in general, and my love of horror or so much crazy games. Of course, the most important part is the music. Years of club visits since the ’90s and DJing in various clubs and festivals gave me plenty of experience and great memories.”
Joerg: “I just wanted to bring my own work to life and implement my ideas. This involves sending demos, collaborating to labels or collectives, and building connections. From these, structures and friendships emerges a big music family that motivates me even more. The goal was to create a portal with my own label, a space for artists who are just as crazy as I am. Productions often come from collected samples — sounds recorded from space games or movies, or things captured in nature and society — and turning them into tracks in the end. It was all about realizing a dream. That’s how Meet Recordings came about. The name ‘MEET’ reflects the concept of meeting — bringing together music and artists, finding common ground, and embarking on a journey together.”
MEET RECORDINGS
Meet Recordings is a record label with their own podcast series. It is born out of a deep passion for techno and a desire to create a unique space within the electronic music world. Meet Recordings stands for electronic music with a special flair, where each beat tells a story and casts a spell over the audience through music that moves them, both physically and emotionally.
We know you have some other thrilled projects going on, can you reveal A BIT more about THEM already?
“Right now, we’re cooking up something very exciting in the studio! A new Techno live project that’s still under wraps. Let’s just say it’s going to be a blend of the unexpected and the electrifying. We are putting our creative minds together, and while we can’t share the details just yet, trust us, it’s going to be worth the wait. Stay tuned!”
Can you give us some insight in your CREATIVE producing process?
“We usually begin with an idea or sound that sparks something. It could be a synth line, a drum pattern, or even a field recording. From there, we dive into experimentation, layering textures, and playing with effects until the track begins to take shape. A lot of our process is about letting the sound lead us, rather than forcing it in a certain direction. Sometimes we’ll revisit an idea months later with fresh ears, and that’s when the magic happens.”
You both have a lot experience, what kind of advice can you give to people who just started their musical journey as a producer and/or dj artist?
“Great question! Our journey has taught us that passion and persistence are key. The most important point’s are:
1. Experiment Fearlessly
Don’t be afraid to explore different sounds and styles. Your unique sound is what sets you apart.
2. Network and Collaborate
Connect with other artists and share ideas. Collaboration can open new creative doors.
3. Stay Humble and Open to Learning
The music industry is constantly evolving, and there’s always something new to learn. Embrace feedback and use it to grow.
4. Invest in Your Craft
Dedicate time to practice and improve your skills. Quality gear helps, but your creativity and dedication are what truly make a difference.
5. Enjoy the journey
The most important one! The process of creating and sharing music is incredibly rewarding. Keep pushing boundaries and let your passion shine through!”
Well said, thank you for that! The Burning question for us ; ) What made you decide to work with MEUK Records?
“Ah, the burning question indeed! It all boils down to their unwavering passion for authentic, groundbreaking techno. MEUK Records has an incredible presence and offers great opportunities for artists who are committed to constantly pushing boundaries. Their vision aligns perfectly with ours. Additionally, their dedication to encouraging creative freedom and experimentation made it an easy decision for us. “Our Expand EP for MEUK Records is a project born from the raw energy and symbiosis of the club experience. Drawing inspiration from the unspoken connection between the music and the audience, we sought to channel those electrifying moments into our production. The tracks — Conception, Proton, Decibels, and Surplus Variable — are a harmonious blend of dynamic soundscapes and driving rhythms. Each piece contributes to a greater whole, capturing the essence of unity and innovation that defines our journey.
